The Nagyházi Gallery and Auction House Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the company, gallery) proudly reflects on its 40-year history as a family business committed to preserving and selling Hungarian and international artistic heritage. The foundation of our ethical code is based on respect for our traditions, integrity, transparency, and sustainability, as well as striving for professional quality.
The purpose of the ethical code is to define the principles and values that everyone within the company must follow. This code outlines the expected behavior and expectations during daily work, with further aims to support the company’s long-term success, the trust of customers and partners, as well as the satisfaction and ethical behavior of employees.
Responsibility
All our employees, leaders, and partners are responsible for supporting and promoting our ethical principles, which focus on compliance with laws and regulations, market integrity, and respecting the origin of artworks.
Company staff are responsible for maintaining the condition of every item received as auction and consignment merchandise. Any changes in their condition must be reported immediately to the company’s leader.

All employees are required to protect the company’s data, which includes the following: personal data of donors and buyers, personal data of employees, data sheets on artworks, records, data and information available in the company’s central artwork registry system, and other data types determined by the management.
Employees may use data they have come into contact with or have processed under strict confidentiality, must not share it with third parties, and may not use it for personal purposes.

We encourage collaboration among our employees, artists, collectors, and other cultural institutions to jointly support and develop the artistic community and contribute to the enrichment of our society.
Ownership Mindset
Within the company, we work in such a way that we take care of the company’s properties and resources during our work and manage them to the best of our ability. We handle the company’s assets with the utmost care and ensure that an ownership mindset is present at all levels.
Employees may not engage in private business activities with the company’s clients (donors, buyers) that could harm the company’s business interests.
Ethical Sales and Customer Service
We are committed to ethical sales practices, which include fair and transparent artwork sales. In commission-based sales, it is essential to ensure that all employees have equal opportunities for successful sales, avoiding competition and conflicts in serving visitors. The sales commission is structured in such a way that its distribution is fair and transparent.
Every visitor must be served with respect, attention, and courtesy. We commit to greeting every attending buyer and providing high-quality service, keeping their needs and interests in mind. We reject aggressive sales tactics and strive for customers to make their decisions in informed and calm circumstances.
Compliance with Occupational Safety Regulations
Occupational safety and security are of utmost importance for all our employees, which is why we adhere to workplace safety regulations, wear necessary protective equipment, and report potential hazards. Furthermore, we refrain from using mobile phones and other distracting devices when performing our work in potentially hazardous situations, ensuring that we do not endanger ourselves or others.
